National Junior Honor Society

Sponsors: Mrs. Crowley Mrs. Scanlan

NJHS is not a club, but an organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the five pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship.

An induction ceremony is held each spring for 7th graders who are selected based on the chapter guidelines.

In order to receive an invitation to apply, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher by the end of 7th grade 2nd qtr. Applications will then be reviewed by NJHS Faculty Council Members. If accepted, the student will participate in an Induction Ceremony in May.

Monthly meetings will not begin until the beginning of their 8th grade year. At that time a student may begin earning their 10 district service hours. Inductees must maintain their eligibility status throughout their 8th grade year or risk being put on probation and/or dismissed from NJHS.

Meeting Dates: Wednesdays (TBA), 3:00-4:00pm
